The newly re-engineered Mount Lee retrofit required 7500 pounds of steel from City contractor, Com Plus inc. and 16 certified climbers and iron workers to get the job done.
The team assembled and installed 84 pieces of customized tower reinforcement brackets from ground to the 100-foot level and 28 horizontal stiffening angles from the 240 to 280 feet level. The work strengthened the tower and made it compliant with the new TIA 222-H standards.
