ITA’s New Data Center is at the heart of L.A.'s Digital Services.
The Bureau of Engineering, the Department of General Services, and ITA has completed Phase I of the construction of a new data center. Many new design and operational standards improvements have been included including an efficient cooling environment, a redundant power distribution unit, and an upgraded fire suppression system. More upgrades will be coming including equipment relocations and server migrations.
Future updates will also include implementing new software-defined networking technology to deliver better automation, provisioning, and resource management. The new-generation data center will reduce the cost of operation while increasing the control of the environment and bringing better digital services to the City of Los Angeles.
