Los Angeles, CA – December 10, 2018 - The City of Los Angeles' Information Technology Agency (ITA) has been named an honoree of a 2019 Digital Edge 50 Award from IDG’s CIO for its implementation of CHIP the Chatbot on various websites at the City of LA. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon a select group of organizations that have executed digital transformation initiatives with significant, measurable business impact.
“CHIP is an anytime, anywhere resource to understand how to do business with the city,” said Los Angeles CIO Ted Ross. “When you have a city of over 4 million people, it’s impossible to bring everyone into a football stadium all at once to talk to them. Technology is the platform in which we engage people.”
CHIP which stands for “City Hall Internet Personality” is currently responding to thousands of queries from the public a day on sites like LACity.org, MyLA 311, LABAVN.org, and JoinLAPD.com and will look to expand its presence even further in the future.
