ITA Apps Bureau developers Fernand Garin, Jeremy Stout, and Sandy Yang developed and launched a reusable chatbot for 24x7 virtual help for City apps. Chip (City Hall Internet Personality) went live with a beta pilot with LABAVN on March 21.

With over 200 answers to the most frequently asked BAVN questions (plus some personal answers), chatbot technology is just one more service that ITA will offer to make interacting with City government easier and friendlier. In the first 24 hours, Chip received 180 question from the public (with only one email followup that Chip couldn’t answer).

Click here and ask Chip a question (such as How do I register in BAVN? Or How can I get emails?). Look for Chip to make appearances in other ITA supported apps like MyLA 311 and SNOW as additional members of the Apps Bureau enhance this new tech.
