While signing the Smart City MOU agreement with the City of Seoul last week, General Manager Ted Ross was assisting with many other events in Korea, including as a judge for the largest Citypreneurs hackathon in the world. Citypreneurs is a United Nations sponsored organization that tackles large urban challenges, especially related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Over 30 companies from around the world pitched their innovative solutions with prizes ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.  One of the winners was DoBrain, using custom software built on tablets that could evaluate and identify learning disabilities in children.

The software was fun, easy to use, and inexpensive, and has learning tools and therapy to improve the cognitive skills of those impacted. DoBrain is already being used in schools in Korea, Cambodia, and other countries.
